Blidar has been negotiating with Siemens for almost two years the signing of a contract for building trams. At the end of last summer, he even announced that he had given up on the possible agreement with Siemens and stated that the tram could be built entirely by Astra.
"Everything was negotiated. We have been in contact with other tram builders, we have been working on the design, we even started the pre-production processes, and we intend to use the first tram by the end of September", said Blidar. Astra Vagoane Arad and Siemens worked together before on the building of the Sageata Albastra diesel cars, for CFR Călători. "The investment for the Imperio trams reaches EUR 6 mil, including the building of the prototype and the preparation for production", added Blidar.
